R. Jason Herr, Ph.D., Research Fellow at AMRI, was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA. He completed a BS in Chemistry at Lebanon Valley College, and went on to obtain a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Penn State University (with Professor Steven Weinreb) followed by postdoctoral research at the University of Delaware (with Professor Douglass Taber). Dr. Herr joined AMRI as a Senior Research Scientist, working his way to his current position of Research Fellow in the Medicinal Chemistry Department.
Most of his time at AMRI has been spent in collaborative drug discovery projects with small biotech and large pharmaceutical clients, and most recently with academic researchers in support of the company’s alliance with the NIH National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke as part of the Medicinal Chemistry for Neurotherapeutics Program (NINDS MCNP). He also maintains active Independent Research projects for publication purposes and writes the occasional review article.
